
Yesterday, Vallejo streets was disrupted by a tragic incident. The Vallejo Police Department reported a collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian at the intersection of Sonoma Boulevard and Meadows Drive. Tragically, this accident marked the 10th fatal collision in the city this year.
Officers who came upon the scene at approximately 4:17 AM found an adult male pedestrian with life-threatening injuries. In the chaos of ensuring medical aid, the pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics, despite efforts from emergency services. The driver was noted for having stopped immediately to contact authorities and waited to cooperate with the investigation.
The Vallejo Police Department has indicated that impairment does not appear to be a factor in this incident. The Solano County Sheriff's Coroner's Office was summoned to manage the grim realities that follow such a loss.
