Wake County is on alert as several brush fires that broke out over the weekend are now being investigated as cases of arson. The Wake County Sheriff’s Office reported on social media that deputies joined local public safety agencies on the scene of multiple brush fires along I-540 West, yesterday. According to the post, the fires occurred near several major arteries in the area, including Glenwood Avenue, Leesville Road, Creedmoor Road, Falls of Neuse Road, and Capital Boulevard.
Community members who might hold any relevant information are crucial to the investigative process and have been urged to come forward. The Sheriff’s Office has issued an appeal for witnesses or anyone in possession of information that could lead to the arsonist's apprehension to contact them directly at 919-856-6911.
