The town of Wake Forest is gearing up for its second annual Diwali celebration, set to light up Joyner Park come November 1. In what promises to be a vibrant affair, the Wake Forest Parks, Recreation & Cultural Resources (PRCR) Department invites the community, between noon and 3 p.m., to participate in an event symbolizing triumph and unity with free admission.

Local attendees can look forward to an array of performances and activities, from the enchanting tunes of traditional music to the dynamic rhythms of dance. According to information obtained from the town's announcement, there will also be hands-on arts and crafts for those looking, to explore their creative side and henna artists adept at adorning willing participants with intricate designs.

Further enticing the senses, a selection of food trucks will be parked, ready to serve a diverse spread. Anadi/Street Bytes, Annapurna Indian Delight, and Soul’s Kitchen, alongside Playa Bowls, will offer various tastes ranging from traditional Indian fare to modern fusion delights.

Festival-goers are encouraged to bring their own seating in the form of chairs, or blankets, however, they are reminded, that certain items like alcohol, unleashed pets, and grills are not allowed on park grounds. This festival, marking India’s most significant celebration, aims to be more than just a cultural exhibition; it's a manifestation of the “Festival of Lights” ethos, where light overcomes darkness and good prevails over evil.
