The Wake Forest Public Art Commission (PAC) is hosting an artistic gathering this weekend, and it’s shaping up to be a vibrant affair for the local community. The special Community Celebration of the Arts is set for Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Wake Forest Renaissance Centre, located at 405 S. Brooks St. This event is promised to be a mix of lively entertainment and interactive attractions suitable for all ages, and admission is free for everyone looking for an engaging way to spend their Saturday, according to the Town of Wake Forest's announcement.
The Celebration of the Arts in Wake Forest will feature a performance by Luke Vandergriff at noon. Vandergriff combines music, storytelling, and visual arts, using instruments made from repurposed materials. The event will also include hands-on activities, art demonstrations, a mini market featuring the Wake Forest Guild of Artists, and live caricature drawings by Cartoon Jordan. Student performances are scheduled for 10 a.m. and 11 a.m., and Kona Ice will give frozen treats to the first 100 guests after 11 a.m.
More information about the Community Celebration of the Arts is available on the Town of Wake Forest website, or by contacting Debra Horton, Renaissance Centre Specialist, via email.
