
Walton County has opened Baker Street, a new road connecting the Walton County Sheriff’s Office and Jail complex to Highway 78. The roadway aims to improve access and safety for residents and staff.
According to the Walton County release, the intersection at Baker Street and Highway 78 has been redesigned to reduce the risk of traffic incidents by limiting vehicles from crossing both lanes of oncoming traffic at once.
Walton County Government credited Precision Planning, Inc. for design and engineering work and the Georgia Department of Transportation for assistance with the intersection improvements. Sheriff Keith Brooks and the Sheriff’s Office were also recognized for their involvement in the project.
The county encourages residents to use the new road and notes that the project enhances safety and access to essential public services.
