Water service has been restored in Laughlin following a significant 18-inch water main break, as the Las Vegas Valley Water District announced today. The rupture, which initially surfaced last night, prompted an interruption of water flow to a section of Casino Drive, affecting various properties from Golden Nugget to the Laughlin Chamber of Commerce, as KTNV reported.

The issue began when the Big Bend Water District, managed by LVVWD, addressed the break near the Aquarius Hotel and Casino. Repair crews managed, to isolate the leak by 9:30 p.m. yesterday, and efforts to mend the broken main continued throughout the night. "Water District crews will remain onsite until repairs are complete and water service is restored," a LVVWD spokesperson said, according to an update from 8 News Now.

The incident compelled staff from the water district to notify affected customers, including engagement with facility managers at the impacted casinos. Full restoration of the water service had been achieved by this morning, ensuring that the regular operations of the businesses could continue without further inconvenience.

While the main issue has been resolved, some remnants of the disruption are expected to linger. Traffic flow on Casino Drive is anticipated to face lane restrictions for most of today, as crews need to backfill and restore the damaged roadway. As of 6 a.m. today, water service had been restored to all impacted properties, a spokesperson for the water district wrote in an email to Channel 13 and although the casinos and nearby businesses have water again, motorists and visitors to the area should be ready for some travel delays.
