In an effort to safely dispose of unwanted prescription medicines, the Waukesha County Sheriff's Department is hosting a Sussex Drug Take Back Day. Slated for October 25, community members can drop by the Sussex Metro Market location at N65W24838 Main St., from 10 AM to 2 PM, to responsibly discard any unused or expired prescription drugs.
The Drug Take Back initiative aims not only to safely dispose of potentially dangerous pharmaceuticals but also to prevent drug abuse. The event is made more sweetened by an opportunity to aid the department's D.A.R.E. program. In a recent social media post by the Waukesha County Sheriff's Department, it was announced that the Sheriff's Department Cadet unit will be selling Seroogy’s candy bars for just $2 each, with all proceeds going to support this vital community program.
The involvement of the Cadets in fundraising efforts is a testament to the proactive approach Waukesha County Sheriff's Department is taking towards community engagement and youth education.
