The Webster Police Department has reported the culmination of a five-month crime spree with the recent charging of Webster resident Gavin Barszcz with a total of 29 new offenses. According to a detailed social media post by the department, the 30-year-old's alleged criminal activities ranged from motor vehicle theft to involvement in a home invasion.

In a statement shared on their Facebook page, the Webster Police detailed the onset of Barszcz's purported crime wave starting April 17th, when he was caught breaking into two vehicles and found in possession of stolen items including keys and money. This initial arrest brought multiple charges, including breaking and entering, receiving stolen property, possession of burglarious tools, and trespassing. But after less than two months, on June 1st, Barszcz was implicated in the theft of a motorcycle from Prospect Street, which officers, upon information received, found behind a dumpster with its engine drilled and wires cut.

The involvement of Barszcz's mother in the motorcycle theft was revealed when officers found him in an apartment at the said location. Webster Police said that Barszcz admitted his and his mother's intention to sell the motorcycle for drug money. The subsequent weeks saw him allegedly in possession of various motorcycles that resulted in failed traffic stop attempts by the police due to Barszcz fleeing. This pattern added to the roster of charges, including reckless operation of a vehicle and unlicensed operation, authorities reported.

Concluding his summer activities, Barszcz was arrested on September 9th after allegedly assaulting a woman during an argument, where he is reported to have thrown and smashed glasses, with resulting shards striking the woman. According to the Facebook post of the police, the very next day, detectives executed two search warrants at apartments associated with Barszcz and discovered his acquisition of significant funds from an armed home invasion in Dudley, by two masked individuals, that victimized an 85-year-old woman.

Webster Police Department's investigation revealed that Barszcz allegedly profited between $50,000 to $100,000, which he used to purchase luxury vehicles, motorcycles, expensive accessories, drugs, and tattoos. Detectives confiscated most of these items, with one of the vehicles had already been impounded previously. The department's social media update includes that Barszcz is now being held at the Worcester County House of Corrections and reminds the public that all suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
