A woman was injured when multiple bullets were fired into her North Harris County apartment while she slept, with one hitting her arm. Natalia Martinez, who was hurt in the shooting last Saturday, said she was glad to have survived, according to CW39.
Three suspects opened fire at an apartment on Chisholm Trail and then fled in a black or dark-colored SUV along Rankin Road, the Harris County Sheriff's Office reported. Martinez, who was inside, said, "I lifted my hand and they hit my... on my arm," describing being woken by the gunfire, as per ABC13.
Authorities are asking the public for information after a shootout at an apartment left bullet holes in the building and injured resident Martinez, who needed surgery. No arrests have been made, and the suspects and motive are still unknown. Martinez said, "I hope they find them, honestly, because it's a lot to process, especially for my family and for me too," as mentioned by ABC13. The sheriff's office confirmed no other residents were hurt, and anyone with information is asked to contact the HCSO Violent Crimes Task Force.
