The search is on for the driver of a sedan involved in a fatal hit-and-run incident that claimed the life of a pedestrian on Mountain Highway and B Street East in the early evening of October 10. The Washington State Patrol (WSP) has recently identified the vehicle as a potential 2013-2016 model Dodge Dart. The WSP is reaching out to the public, urging anyone with information pertaining to the vehicle or the driver to come forward.
Following the tragedy, detectives have tirelessly worked to piece together the scant available evidence, tirelessly hoping to track down the individual responsible for the gruesome act. In an update provided by the WSP, they stated that the suspect vehicle fled the scene without contacting any law enforcement immediately following the incident. The victim, whose identity has not been disclosed, received fatal injuries during the collision.
WSP Detectives are leaning on the community to aid in the investigation. "Anyone with more information about the vehicle and the driver are encouraged to contact Detective Tessa Schahfer," said the official WSP statement. They are urging eyewitnesses or individuals with any knowledge at all to help in bringing the driver to account for their actions. Detective Schahfer is reachable via email at [email protected] or by phone at (253) 538-3172.
