A Wylie resident has been arrested on charges of continuous sexual abuse of a child, following an investigation by local authorities. Last Thursday, 55-year-old Arthur Bass was taken into custody after a child made an outcry to her mother regarding the abuse, which prompted law enforcement action.
According to the Wylie Police Department's social media post, the mother reported her child's allegations to the police, leading to interviews and further investigation by Wylie Investigators assigned to the Children’s Advocacy Center of Collin County. Following the investigation, an arrest warrant was obtained for Bass, who has been charged with continuous sexual abuse of a child, a serious criminal offense.
According to the post by the Wylie Police Department, Bass was transported to the City of Wylie Jail without incident. The case is currently ongoing, and officers have stated that no additional information is available for release at this juncture.
Sergeant Donald English, a media contact for the Wylie Police Department, stated, "This case remains under investigation and no other details will be released at this time." The department has urged anyone with knowledge about the case to come forward and contribute to the ongoing investigation.
