Attention drivers and Yolo County locals: prepare for road closures over the next few days. Essential bridge work is set to take place on County Road 105. The closure, necessitated by pavement and bridge repairs, is scheduled from today through Friday, occurring between 7:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. daily, as reported by Yolo County Government.

The crucial repair work is targeting the bridge over the Willow Slough Bypass. The location affected is just south of County Road 28H and approximately two miles northeast of Davis. Yolo County Public Works Division warns that, the schedule is contingent on favorable weather conditions and the day-to-day availability of the hot mix asphalt materials essential for the repairs. For the duration of construction hours, both County Road 105 and the bridge will be inaccessible.

Conveying the local government's awareness of the disruption this causes, Vice Chair Sheila Allen of the Yolo County Board of Supervisors remarked, “We apologize for any inconvenience caused by this closure but are glad to see the County’s infrastructure needs being addressed,” as noted by the county's release.

Mitigating the effects of the project, signage and flaggers will be deployed to help redirect the flow of traffic smoothly around the area. For those considering alternative routes, detour signs will usher motorists via County Roads 32A, Mace Boulevard, Covell Boulevard, Pole Line Road, and then to County Road 102 back to 28H. Moreover, landowners and commerce within the affected zone have been given reassurances of maintained access throughout the project's duration.

Frequent visitors of the Yolo County Central Landfill can breathe easy, as access remains uninterrupted. Nevertheless, to sidestep the construction, landfill-goers should approach from the west using County Road 102 to County Road 28H. For a broader understanding of the current road closures and major maintenance projects, a map is accessible at the Yolo County website. Drivers are reminded, to approach these zones cautiously and heed all construction signals for the safety of both workers and fellow travelers.
