A large-scale theft ring in Texas has been exposed following the arrest of five individuals tied to a million-dollar cargo theft operation. According to a report from the Dallas Police Department, the coordinated effort between South Central CRT, Salvage Squad, and the Texas Department of Public Safety Criminal Investigation Division led to the recovery of a substantial haul of stolen goods.
It started on November 1, when CRT officers were tipped off about a stolen trailer at a repair shop on University Hills Boulevard. They swiftly detained the semi-truck driver along with two others, further implicating the shop's owner and manager in the criminal enterprise, leading to a total of five arrests. Among the seized items, officers found 600 aluminum rims, various vehicles, including a motorcycle and an ATV, home appliances, cases of motor oil, and 795 tires, as well as more than $32,000 in cash.
The identities of the accused have been released, with 39-year-old Johnny Veail charged with Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle, Abdullah Majeed, Mohammad Husainy, and Justin Kenney each facing charges of Theft of Property exceeding $300K. The latter also had an outstanding warrant for a separate theft charge. 54-year-old Anthony Walker rounds out the group of defendants, charged under the same first-degree felony as his co-accused.
Diligent investigation linked this stash to at least ten cargo theft cases across the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex that date back to 2022. The repair shop emerged as a storage point for these stolen items. This find, as per police statements, underscores the importance of inter-agency collaboration in tackling organized crime that affects multiple communities in North Texas. Case number 157172-2025 has been assigned to this ongoing investigation.
