Last Saturday night, around 10:40 p.m., a shooting occurred in the 6800 block of Gessner Road, leaving HPD Officer J. Parker wounded. The off-duty officer, driving his personal vehicle, was shot but returned fire before the suspects fled, according to the City of Houston.
23-year-old Homero Reyes was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and his case was processed through the 178th Criminal District Court. HPD detectives C. Walker, H. Le, and B. Rusher investigated the incident, and Officer Parker was treated at Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center and later released in stable condition, as reported by the City of Houston.
Authorities found the suspect’s vehicle and arrested Reyes, Diego Rosales, 22, and Cristian Yosely Marquez, 33. Rosales is charged with unlawful carry of a weapon, and Marquez with possession of a controlled substance; their cases will go to separate Harris County courts. Booking photos were released. The Houston Police Department said all officer-involved shootings, including the one on Gessner Road, are investigated by the Special Investigations Unit and Internal Affairs, as stated by the City of Houston.
