A diver was critically injured near Ko'Olina on Sunday after being found unresponsive. Honolulu EMS and Ocean Safety crews responded to a distress call about four swimmers at Paradise Cove Beach. According to KITV, the man received CPR on the beach before being taken to the hospital.
A 23-year-old man was found unresponsive while diving about 25 yards from shore. A lifeguard paddled out to rescue him just after 11:30 a.m., and the EMS team arrived around 11:35 a.m. to provide advanced life-saving care. Ocean Safety responded after witnesses reported the divers in distress, as per KHON2.
Four divers were rescued in Ko'Olina after an emergency in the ocean. The circumstances, ocean conditions, and cause of their distress are not yet clear.
