Tragedy struck on a Huntington Beach intersection when a blue Toyota Highlander collided with a red Honda motorcycle, leading to the death of a 25-year-old man from North Dakota. The fatal incident occurred at approximately 3:30 p.m. on Monday, November 24, 2025, on Talbert Avenue and Brookshire Lane, as reported by the Huntington Beach Police Department. The motorcycle rider, unfortunately, did not survive the incident.
The Huntington Beach Police Department's preliminary investigation found that the Toyota was navigating southbound on Brookshire Lane and made a left turn onto Talbert Avenue, where the rider of the Honda motorcycle, traveling westbound on Talbert Avenue, entered the intersection. Despite wearing a helmet, the motorcyclist, found unconscious by the officers at the scene, was later pronounced deceased at a local hospital. The driver of the Toyota, a 42-year-old female from Bellflower, emerged from the collision unharmed.
The cause of the accident is still under investigation, as it remains unclear whether impairment played a role in the crash for the rider. The 42-year-old woman who was driving the Toyota cooperated with the authorities. It was determined that impairment was not a factor for the female driver. The investigation is actively being carried out by the HBPD's Multidisciplinary Accident Investigation Team (MAIT).
Further investigation into the circumstances leading up to the tragedy is ongoing, with HBPD Traffic Investigator S. Flynn urging witnesses to come forward.
