Commencing at Waimea Canyon Middle School parking lot, the procession will trail down Huakai Road, making its way along Waimea Canyon Drive to Kaumuali‘i Highway, before concluding at the Alawai Road intersection.
The Kaua‘i Police Department is getting ahead of potential traffic disruptions by closing streets on the parade route from 5:00 p.m. to about 8:15 p.m., or until the last float has passed by. This means, if you're planning on driving around the area, expect detours and a longer wait time to get from A to B. As reported by a county press release, no parking will be permitted along the parade path once the clock strikes 5:00 p.m. on the day of the parade.
Adjustments to local transit are also in the works to accommodate the festivities. The Kaua‘i Bus will be following a special schedule, with Route 200 ending at the Pāʻulaʻula State Historic Site and Route 100 kicking off from the same spot at 5:15 p.m., offering departures every hour until 9:15 p.m. It should be noted that, the final outbound Route 100 bus from Kekaha will set off at 4:15 p.m., as stated on the Kaua‘i government website.
