The tragic outcome of a situation in Ohio Township has led to the ruling of a homicide in the death of a 9-month-old infant, Lena Bedri. Announced by the Allegheny County Medical Examiner's Office, the ruling came out today following an incident that occurred in the 200 block of Cobblestone Drive back on April 27.
According to the medical examiner’s report, the infant succumbed to "combined drug intoxication of citalopram/escitalopram and verapamil," medications known as selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors and a calcium channel blocker, respectively, as stated by WPXI.
Lena Bedri's death is reported to have occurred at 3:54 a.m., roughly one hour post the noted incident. When reached for an update on the ongoing investigation into this somber affair, Allegheny County police spokesperson Jim Madalinsky reiterated, "We are aware of the medical examiner’s determination in this incident. We do not have any additional information to share at this time," according to the information provided by WTAE.
