Sacramento’s Cal Expo has a new neighbor with a medical mission. Sutter Health has opened the Arden Care Center in the Arden neighborhood, a three-story facility bringing urgent care, diagnostic imaging, and multiple specialty clinics under one roof—aimed squarely at making care closer and quicker for Arden-Arcade and the surrounding communities.
As reported by ABC10, the center opened today with more than 50 clinicians on deck. Doors opened to patients on day one, and the building sits directly across from the Cal Expo fairgrounds.
What the Arden Care Center includes
According to a Sutter Health press release, the project transformed a roughly 70,000-square-foot, three-story office at 1651 Exposition Blvd. into a multispecialty care hub with primary care, urgent care, diagnostic imaging, and an on-site lab. The estimated price tag: about $76 million. The site will also host specialty clinics in dermatology, endocrinology, and rheumatology. As Sutter Medical Group’s chief medical officer, Dr. Karun Grossman, put it, “Patients want the convenience of having multiple services available in one location.”
Part of a wider regional push
The Arden site is the latest in a string of investments Sutter has made around greater Sacramento, including a $145 million Folsom Care Complex and expansions in Elk Grove, as noted by the Folsom Times. It’s all part of a strategy to shorten travel times and bulk up outpatient capacity across Northern California.
Local details and how to find care
Permit records and contractor listings point to permanent signage and site work at 1651 Exposition Blvd., indicating the facility’s ready for prime time, as per BuildZoom. Entries compiled there include a May sign permit naming the Sutter Health Arden Care Center—a typical final step before opening day.
For scheduling, hours, and provider listings, Sutter directs patients to its official site. As mentioned by Sutter Health, the Arden Care Center is designed to reduce travel times and centralize services for nearby neighborhoods.
