A major Brooklyn drug bust unfolded after a reported kidnapping investigation led NYPD officers to a large cache of illegal marijuana products. The stash was discovered in a building’s basement during the probe, PIX11 reports.
Investigators executing a search warrant uncovered 644 pounds of THC and cannabis products in the Brooklyn building and a connected vehicle. The operation involved collaboration between the NYPD and the New York City Sheriff’s Office. Brooklyn News12 noted that a safe room in the basement held the majority of the seized narcotics.
The situation escalated with three arrests: two linked to the alleged kidnapping and one tied to illegal cannabis possession. Authorities have not yet released the identities of those arrested or further details about the alleged crimes.
Law enforcement photos from the sheriff’s office show that at least 500 pounds of marijuana flowers and over 100 pounds of THC-infused products were seized from the home. Another 150 pounds of marijuana were recovered from a vehicle, indicating the operation’s large scale and its possible connection to the alleged kidnapping.
The Kings County District Attorney’s Office is continuing the investigation, with additional details expected as the case progresses.
