Mark your calendars for a noteworthy celebration of art and community spirit. The Art in Public Places program, a mainstay for cultivating the arts within the neighborhood, hits a significant milestone with its 30th Anniversary Celebration on November 8. The festivities will take place at The Center for Creativity at 200 Mathews Street, welcoming all from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., and there's no entry fee to join in the experience.
Since its inception, Art in Public Places has been a fixture in the local art scene, offering up visuals and installations that anyone with a pair of eyes and a moment to spare can appreciate. Now, thirty years later, the initiative is a testament to the power of placing art smack-dab in the middle of everyday life. According to the City of Fort Collins, the event is a chance for the community to celebrate with those who’ve played integral roles in the program, from artists to board members.
One of the highlights of the event will be Lightning Talks by local artists, a series of brief, back-to-back presentations showcasing the talents and visions that have been pivotal to APP’s journey. Additionally, Denver Projection Mapping is set to dazzle attendees with a special projection artwork, momentarily transforming the Historic Carnegie Library's facade into an animated canvas of light and color.
