An early morning shootout in Bellaire has left one person dead, authorities said.  Around 3 a.m. on Saturday, a Bellaire police officer heard gunshots in the vicinity of Bellaire Boulevard and South Rice Avenue, as reported by FOX 26 Houston. The officer discovered three individuals outside a vehicle in a Chevron parking lot, appearing highly agitated. According to police statements, the individuals claimed to have been robbed by men driving a gray Honda sedan. Shell casings were found scattered in the area, confirming that shots had been fired.

Later, the same gray Honda was located by officers in a parking lot at 5320 Bellaire Boulevard. Two men were attempting to assist a third man who suffered from multiple gunshot wounds. Despite efforts to administer CPR, "the man was pronounced dead a little before 3:30 p.m.," as per the information obtained by KHOU.

Investigators believe the shooting may have involved gunfire exchanged between two groups and are working to learn what happened. Police have detained everyone involved as they continue the investigation. The victim’s identity has not been released, and no charges have been announced.
