Bellevue residents are invited to attend the Bellevue Essentials graduation ceremony on Wednesday next week, hosted by the City of Bellevue. The event will feature guest speaker Kevin P. Henry, former leader of Bellevue’s diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives, who will address the 36 graduates with a speech titled “The True Leader in All of Us,” according to City of Bellevue release.

Henry, who served the City for 20 years, is recognized for promoting diverse voices and public engagement through programs such as “Voices of Diversity.” His contributions have supported Bellevue’s efforts toward inclusion. The ceremony will also include remarks from Cosmos Darwin, a Microsoft product manager and Bellevue resident, who will share his experience with the Bellevue Essentials program, which has educated over 400 participants since its creation, as per the same release.

After leaving the City in 2015, Henry continued his work in equity and community engagement with various organizations across the country.

The event will be held from 7–9 p.m. at Bellevue City Hall and will include a dessert reception. Residents can register for the event online through the City of Bellevue’s website. The next Bellevue Essentials session is scheduled to begin in September 2026, with more details to be announced in spring.
