The Bellevue City Council recently approved adjustments to the 2025-2026 Budget and Capital Improvement Program, covering employee pay plans, Development Services, sewer rates, and transportation-related fees. These mid-biennium changes aim to manage city operations and investments while preparing for future needs, according to the City of Bellevue.
The council also voted 4-2 to raise the 2026 property tax levy by 1%, with Councilmembers Jared Nieuwenhuis and Conrad Lee opposing the increase. The decision includes a plan to reserve unused levy capacity to provide financial flexibility during economic uncertainties, as reported by the City of Bellevue.
The City of Bellevue plans to build Eastgate Commons Park at 14700 SE 39th St, with open lawns, play areas, and community spaces. The park is funded by the 2022 Parks and Open Space Levy, and construction is expected to start in 2028. The City of Bellevue also updated the Mobility Implementation Plan, which includes new maps, safety improvements for pedestrians and cyclists, and a list of future projects. The council will vote on the plan at a later date.
