Blaine residents have an opportunity to voice their opinions on the future development plans proposed by Wellington Management, Inc., the details of which will be reviewed in a public hearing by the Planning Commission of the City of Blaine, according to a public notice posted on the city's website.
The application in question, designated as Case 25-0050, involves a preliminary plat to subdivide an area of 8.36 acres at the northwest corner of Lexington Avenue and 109th Avenue NE. The proposed development, named North Meadows 3rd Addition, seeks to establish one lot and two outlots for mixed-use that includes general retail, office space, an animal hospital, and dining establishments with outdoor seating opportunities. Moreover, the application details a plan for shared access and parking along the northern property line within a Development Flex (DF) zoning district, as reported by the City of Blaine.
Residents who wish to engage in the planning process can do so by attending the hearing, which is scheduled to take place at Blaine City Hall Council Chambers, located at 10801 Town Square Drive, 2nd Floor, in Blaine, on December 9, at 7 PM. Before the meeting, interested individuals can review the submitted plans and staff reports that will be available online three days before the hearing commences.
Communicating with the Planning Department is also encouraged for those seeking more information or wishing to express their comments ahead of the public session. Comments can be submitted via email to [email protected] or by mail, and must be received by noon on December 8, as per the City of Blaine. It's important to note that unsigned or anonymously submitted comments will not be considered by the Planning Commission.
For those unable to attend in person, the meeting will be broadcast live and can be accessed through the City of Blaine's cable channel and livestreamed on its website, with subsequent on-demand viewing options also available. Accessibility is a key component of the hearing, and the city encourages individuals requiring an interpreter or auxiliary assistance to make arrangements by contacting Pat Robinson at 763-785-6180 no later than December 4.
