
Chicago police on Sunday asked for the public’s help after a rider was robbed at gunpoint on the CTA Blue Line’s Kedzie-Homan platform around 8 a.m. on Oct. 31. Police say the suspect approached on the platform in the Eisenhower Expressway median, produced a firearm, and demanded property before fleeing. No arrests have been announced as detectives work to identify him.
Police release suspect description
According to CBS Chicago, police released surveillance images and described the suspect as a Black male between 25 and 30 years old, about 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 11 inches tall, and weighing roughly 175–180 pounds. He has a beard and was last seen wearing a black short-sleeved shirt with white stripes on the front and sleeves, gray jeans with rips on the legs, and white gym shoes. Police say he pulled a gun and demanded the victim’s property.
Where it happened
The incident was reported at the Kedzie-Homan Blue Line platform on the city’s West Side, which sits in the Eisenhower Expressway median. The CTA lists the station’s address as 530 S. Kedzie Ave., serving riders heading toward downtown and Forest Park.
