
A two-alarm fire that erupted overnight Saturday in Pittsburgh's Sheraden neighborhood led to the discovery of a man's body, according to local officials. The incident occurred in the 700 block of Hillsboro Street, where the fire caused significant structural damage, including the partial collapse of the building housing an auto garage. WPXI reported that recovery efforts began yesterday around 1 p.m., and the body was located over an hour later.
Initial reports by WTAE indicate that police and fire departments responded to the scene shortly after midnight Saturday. Following their attempts to contain the blaze, which was seen coming from the second floor, the structure sustained heavy damage. Due to the extensive destruction, one man was deemed unaccounted for after the incident
The identity of the man found has not been confirmed yet, nor has it been established if the remains are those of the unaccounted individual. The Allegheny County Medical Examiner is in the process of determining the cause and manner of death.
