Boston is hosting the second annual "Please Come to Boston" mini music festival in Somerville, headlined by Buffalo Tom, a grungy alt-rock trio together for nearly four decades. Fans can expect a unique experience each night with a no-repeat setlist, featuring performances by Boston '80s punk band Moving Targets and Elsa Kennedy, according to Cambridge Day.
The festival also offers intimate interactions with the band, including a Q&A session hosted by comedian Mike O'Malley and opportunities for memorabilia signing. As bassist Chris Colbourn told Cambridge Day, "We had lots of people through social media and Spotify wanting us to tour their towns, but booking and logistics get complicated," adding, "And so we thought, ‘come to Boston,’" as reported by Cambridge Day.
Buffalo Tom will perform an acoustic set Thursday and Janovitz will do a book reading of "The Cars: Let the Stories be Told," as per TicketLeap. The band will headline the following nights with full sets, joined by supporting acts including the nÓgs, a Pogues tribute, and Moving Targets. Buffalo Tom plans a European tour in 2026 and a Brazil visit in 2027. Colbourn said, "It's all about appreciating our super fans and making it fun and accessible," as mentioned by Cambridge Day. The festival takes place at Arts at the Armory from 6:30 to 10 p.m. Thursday through Saturday.
