A 31-year-old Boston woman was arrested yesterday evening after she reportedly attempted a carjacking and an armed robbery in Dorchester. The police took custody of Jenisteen Tomlinson near her Blue Hill Avenue neighborhood following the incidents.

According to the Boston Police Department, officers attended to an armed robbery alert at about 5:23 PM near 1102 Blue Hill Avenue. A man was working on his vehicle when Tomlinson supposedly jumped into the driver's seat. The vehicle owner attempted to remove her, but she tried to drive away and hit another car. She then exited the vehicle and swung a knife at the man before running off toward Ashton Street.

Tomlinson was arrested a short while later close to 67 Woodrow Avenue. The Boston Police Department mentioned that her apprehension was executed without incident. She is being charged with Armed Carjacking and Assault with a Dangerous Weapon and is set to face arraignment at the Dorchester District Court.

Investigations into the matter revealed her alleged involvement in another incident occurring minutes prior at a nearby convenience store. Tomlinson is accused of entering the store, threatening a victim with a knife, and attempting a theft. She reportedly waved the knife when confronted before leaving toward Ansel Road. Charges against Tomlinson for the convenience store incident include Armed Robbery and Assault with a Dangerous Weapon.
