
Brooklyn’s Crown Heights neighborhood is facing a homicide in which 16-year-old Tyson Harps was killed. Last Saturday evening, authorities responded to a 911 call reporting an assault at 1196 Eastern Parkway. Harps suffered a fatal gunshot wound to the head and was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency medical services.
According to an NYPD Crimestoppers social media post, the unidentified individual is wanted for the homicide that occurred around 8:45 p.m. in front of an apartment building on Eastern Parkway. The suspect remains at large as the investigation continues. Neighbors reported hearing three gunshots, showing how serious the incident was. Authorities said the 71st Precinct had four homicides in both 2024 and 2025 up to October 26.
