The Cabarrus County community is rallying to ensure residents have access to health resources, warm clothing, and a supportive social environment as the Cabarrus Health Fair makes its fourth and final round of the year on December 12th. Announced by Cabarrus County Social Services through an official social media post, the health fair will be stationed at the Cabarrus County EMS HQ from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. In partnership with local organizations, the social services initiative aims to improve community well-being before the brunt of winter hits.

What's on offer at the health fair goes beyond the mere dissemination of information. Attendees can expect a free lunch, sponsored by Monarch, as well as free cold weather gear to keep the chill at bay, as long as supplies last. In a move that reflects the spirit of giving, in anticipation of harsher weather, Cabarrus County Social Services is also accepting donations of food and clothing at the event. Key details were outlined in the county government’s announcement, including the availability of free lunch, and the ongoing collection of winter gear for those in need.

The initiative shows an aware community taking proactive steps. From now until next Friday, residents are encouraged to donate new or gently used scarves, gloves, hats, coats, and blankets, and especially new socks. Donations are welcomed at several drop-off locations, including the Cabarrus County EMS, Sheriff's Office, DSS, and Lively Therapy in Concord and Kannapolis, making it easy for the community to contribute. For more information on the event or where to donate, interested parties can call 704-920-1532.
