Cambridge’s fire department and the Marines are collecting new, unwrapped toys for children in need through the Toys-for-Tots program, which has been spreading holiday cheer for 77 years and has distributed nearly three quarters of a million toys nationwide. Local fire stations, including Station 10 on Hovey Avenue, are accepting donations, while the Fire Headquarters on 491 Broadway is closed for reconstruction, according to the City of Cambridge.
Residents are encouraged to drop off toys by December 11 to help make the holiday season memorable for less fortunate children. The program continues to be a key community effort, spreading joy and hope across Cambridge and beyond, as reported by the City of Cambridge.
The Cambridge Fire Department is supporting the annual Toys-for-Tots drive, which "Toys-for-Tots delivers a message of hope to children who have little reason to have hope for the future," by collecting toys for children in need. People who cannot drop off toys at fire stations can also make monetary donations through the Toys-for-Tots website. Every donation helps provide gifts for children during the holiday season, as stated by the City of Cambridge.
