Residents in Carrboro should note changes to the trash schedule for Thanksgiving week. Town offices will be closed on Nov. 27–28, and household trash will be collected two days earlier than usual to adjust for the holiday.
As reported by the Town of Carrboro, the collection that normally happens on Wednesday will roll out on Monday. Trying to get ahead of the big feast, the town advises that Thursday's route will be serviced on Tuesday, and the usual Friday route will be pushed up to Wednesday. So make a note, lest your trash misses its ride.
Carrboro will pause yard waste, loose leaf, and bulk waste collection during Thanksgiving week. These services will not operate from Nov. 24–28, so residents should hold these materials until collection resumes or use another disposal option.
The town did not announce any changes to compostable materials pickup, which indicates those collections are expected to continue on their usual schedule.
