The Town of Carrboro will hold its annual Lighten Up! event on Nov. 13, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Libba Cotten Bikeway. The event will provide pedestrians and cyclists with gear to increase visibility while traveling on local streets. The initiative aims to reduce accidents involving cyclists and pedestrians.
Town staff will distribute bike lights, vests, and other reflective accessories at the event. They will also provide information on road safety. According to the town’s announcement, Lighten Up! is part of the Transportation Demand Management program, which focuses on safety for all travelers using Carrboro’s roads and pathways.
