Carrollton is gearing up for its annual holiday kick-off with Santa on the Square, promising to be a festive evening for folks of all ages in Historic Downtown Carrollton. The City of Carrollton will roll out the red-nosed festivities from 4 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, December 6, inviting everyone down to Broadway for an evening of holiday spirit, according to the City of Carrollton
Standing tall on stilts, the toy soldier walkers are ready to strut their stuff alongside one of Santa's prize reindeer, just as the city has come to expect. The evening will light up not just with holiday spirit, but also with a literal glow—the tree lighting ceremony scheduled at 6 p.m. will be amped up with a 175-drone light display by Sky Elements Drone Shows. This high-flying performance is set to cast a whole new light on the city's seasonal celebrations.
A trackless train is set to chug along the streets, encircling the square, providing rides amid the yuletide cheer. Kids and kids at heart can dabble in face painting and engage in holiday crafts, ensuring there's something enjoyable for everyone. And if you're looking for that perfect photo op, you'll be in luck; the event will have a live reindeer and a 20-foot decked-out Christmas tree ready for your family snaps.
Bringing in the traditional touch, a special mailbox for letters addressed to Santa will be planted in Downtown Carrollton starting Friday, November 21, until the day of the event. Santa's helpers will see to it that all wish lists find their way to the North Pole, making sure every hope and holiday desire is received by Saint Nick. And for those looking to cross some items off their own shopping lists, local merchants will be open for some festive purchasing.
