Local swimmers will have to find an alternative place to practice their freestyle and butterfly strokes this Saturday morning, as the Centennial Park Pool is closed for the very valid reason of a swim meet. In fact, don't plan to cannonball in until after the winners are standing on the podium and the rest are wrapped in towels – the facility won't reopen to the public until 3 p.m. today, as per the notice.
If you're seeking details or have a scheduling snafu caused by this aquatic shutdown, Aquatic Coordinator Katelynn Crockett is the point person. One can speculate that her inbox is possibly more filled with water-related inquiries than a pool is with H2O at this point. For further enlightenment on the matter, you can reach her at 941-964-4102 or drop an email to [email protected] if the medium of digital communication is preferable.
