Following a stabbing incident that occurred in Ceres last month, authorities have recently made an arrest in the attempted murder investigation. According to a social media post by the Ceres Police Department, on October 2, shortly before 11 p.m., multiple reports of a stabbing at the corner of E. Whitmore Avenue and Mitchell Road led officers to a 34-year-old male victim with multiple puncture wounds.

The victim received immediate medical attention at the scene and was then transported to a local hospital in critical condition. In the pursuit of justice, Ceres Police Investigations Division took the reins, conducting a thorough examination of the scene, numerous interviews, and the collection of evidence, which all pointed to an attempted homicide.

Through persistent investigative work, Detectives identified 31-year-old Patricio Sandoval of Modesto as the suspect. With evidence in hand, authorities secured an arrest warrant for Sandoval and a search warrant for his home on Poland Road. On November 13, a coordinated effort by the Ceres Police SWAT Team and the State Parole Office led to the serving of warrants and the arrest of Sandoval.

Sandoval now faces charges related to attempted murder and currently awaits the legal proceedings. Authorities have stated that the victim has been discharged from the hospital and is currently recovering at home. The Ceres Police Department encourages anyone with further information to reach out to Detective Welsh at (209) 538-5616.
