AgConnect has put out the call for nominations for its first-ever Best of Chester County Agriculture Awards, a fresh endeavor to spotlight the hardworking members of the local ag scene. These awards aim to recognize individuals who are pushing boundaries and fostering growth across several agricultural sectors in the region.
With nominations now underway as of the Good Food Fest just this past Sunday, these three fields of merit include the Young and Emerging Farmer category, highlighting those up-and-comers poised to lead, the Woman in Agriculture award that shines a light on the influential work of women in the sector, and finally the Community Impact in Agriculture distinction commending those whose efforts have fortified the local agricultural community, bringing with it, it's essential vitality and sustenance.
According to details from Chester County's announcement, Greg Newell, Chair of AgConnect’s Executive Advisory Committee, expressed a community sentiment, saying, "Chester County’s agriculture thrives because of the people who work tirelessly behind the scenes." He added, "These awards give our community the opportunity to hear about their amazing efforts and celebrate those who feed, grow, and enrich our county every day."
For those looking to put forward a nomination, you're in luck because the nomination portal is open through December 13, and the entire process can be completed at AgConnect's website, where a dedicated Awards page is waiting for your input. Winners, when picked, will bask in glory at a special celebration held by AgConnect in 2026, where the community will rally to applaud the exceptional contributions of their own, the heart and soul of Chester County's agricultural might.
