Last week, officers from the Chesterfield Police Department had their hands full with a variety of incidents, which ranged from drunk driving to theft, as reported on the department's Facebook page. One particular case featured an SUV that crashed into a curb, resulting in significant damage to the vehicle. The teenage driver, who admitted to consuming alcohol, failed field sobriety tests and was found to have a blood alcohol concentration of 0.240, according to the Chesterfield Missouri Police Department social media post. The driver was given a crash course in arrest procedures and subsequently released to her parents.
In another incident, two women were detained at a local Walmart after attempting to steal over $300 worth of merchandise, including soap, baby back ribs, and various soft drinks. The suspects were charged with stealing, as noted in the light-hearted update issued by the department's social media team. The Chesterfield PD responded to a grand total of 1136 calls for service during the week and made 23 custodial arrests, indicating a bustling period for law enforcement in the area.
A further instance of impaired driving was highlighted when officers located a damaged black Jeep Wrangler. The vehicle was suspected of involvement in a hit-and-run accident on Interstate 64 and was found concealed behind a nearby apartment complex. Initially, the driver denied any involvement but eventually admitted to drinking alcohol and smoking cannabis before the crash, following a thorough investigation by the officers.
