An investigation by the Maryland State Police Child Recovery Unit, in coordination with local and federal authorities, resulted in the rescue of two juvenile females and the arrest of two men on human trafficking charges. The individuals identified in this operation are Deion Taurence Philip, a 32-year-old from New York, and Antoine Miles, a 57-year-old from Maryland.
Philip, held without bond at the Baltimore County Detention Center, and Miles, detained in Minnesota awaiting extradition, face charges including the sex trafficking of a minor. This ongoing investigation saw authorities observing what they believed to be a young girl advertised for sexual services on the internet, leading them to a Towson, Maryland hotel where one juvenile was found and identified as a critically missing youth, according to the Maryland State Police news release.
Last Tuesday, Deion was apprehended at a residence in Hanover, Pennsylvania, by Maryland State Police and U.S. Marshals. During his arrest, officials discovered another missing juvenile female, believed to have been a victim of sex trafficking. Miles was subsequently arrested at a Minneapolis airport last Thursday without incident.
Maryland State Police suspect there could be more victims linked to Deion and Philip and are encouraging any additional victims to contact them. They emphasize that all calls may remain confidential, and the public can reach investigators at 410-694-4700.
