The California Highway Patrol (CHP) Marin teamed up with the Novato Police Department to recover a hefty haul of stolen eyewear worth $20,000. According to a social media post by CHP Marin, the chase began soon after the suspects allegedly stole designer glasses from a local store.
It all took place this afternoon, around 3:18 PM, when Novato Police put out an alert for a black Dodge Charger, notable for its obscured license plates. However, it wasn't long, around 25 minutes, before CHP units, attending to a nearby crash, spotted a vehicle matching the description cruising past. A CHP unit pursued and conducted an enforcement stop, uncovering the stolen goods in the process. The suspects were detained and eventually turned over to the Novato Police Department, a move showcasing the collaboration between the CHP and local law enforcement in tackling crime.
"The relationship between the CHP and its neighboring allied agencies is a crucial element in providing the highest level of service to the community," read the posting on CHP Marin's Facebook page.
