The spirited essence of the holiday spirit will once again animate Downtown Monroe this December. The city's cherished "Christmas on Main" event is poised to return on Saturday, December 6, from 4 to 8 p.m., inviting families and visitors to partake in an evening brimming with seasonal joy and community festivities.
Town streets will transform into hubs of merriment as attendees can revel in the presence of nativity animals and embark on hay rides. The joyous occasion will be accentuated with live music and fun inflatables. A highlight for many, Santa Claus will be stationed at the Dowd Center Theatre, eagerly awaiting photo sessions and the whispered holiday wishes of children. As reported by Monroe's official announcement, the charming Christmas Bazaar beckons shoppers to peruse wares from the likes of Faded Rose Boutique, along with a slew of local artisans displaying their handiwork. Moreover, face painting will add a dash of colorful whimsy for the young, or young at heart.
Downtown Monroe will witness the zenith of this festive day with the Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony. Scheduled to commence at 6 p.m., the event promises to culminate with the ceremonial illumination around 7 p.m., as per the information detailed in the civic alert.
