Last night, a repetitive tale of crime unfolded on the streets of Nashville as Kareem Kimbro, a 39-year-old convicted felon, found himself back in custody. Details from the Nashville Metropolitan Police Department reveal that Kimbro was apprehended while driving a stolen Dodge Charger on Murfreesboro Pike. It seems destiny was against him as the incident occurred right in the crosshairs of the Violent Crimes Division detectives' watch.
The officers' discovery came to hardly surprised anyone familiar with the area's recent surge in vehicle thefts. Kimbro, it appears, was determined to fully break the law by not just driving a stolen car, but having a stolen firearm and a smorgasbord of drugs comfortably seated within the vehicle. According to the Nashville Metropolitan Police Department, within the confines of the Charger, detectives found an AR pistol, stolen back in 2023, alongside an assortment of illicit substances that included cocaine, fentanyl, methamphetamine, and MDMA pills, as well as a scale that suggested intent to distribute.
In a move that often follows such discoveries, the police promptly took Kimbro into custody. His bond was set at a steep $206,000. Charges against him include vehicle theft, theft of a firearm, altering a license plate, and various gun and drug charges.
As shared by the Nashville Metropolitan Police Department, upon his arrest on Carroll Street, Kimbro stepped out from the Dodge Charger—reported stolen only a day prior—seemingly oblivious to or indifferent towards the consequences that awaited him.
