A tragic incident occurred in a Dade City neighborhood yesterday, leading to the death of a two-year-old boy. According to FOX 13 News, the young child, accompanied by his father, was walking along Hilltop Farms Drive when the boy suddenly darted out into the street and was struck by a pickup truck. The Florida Highway Patrol confirmed the heartbreaking details of the accident.
As the 20-year-old driver of a Dodge Ram 3500 traveled north on the residential road, little did he expect, a child to run unexpectedly into his vehicle's path, as reported by Tampa Bay Times. Despite the immediate response from emergency services, the efforts to save the child's life were in vain.
The aftermath of the collision left the community in shock and mourning. Efforts to provide timely medical attention were made as the toddler was airlifted to a nearby hospital. Unfortunately, WTSP stated the boy succumbed to his injuries after being admitted. The driver and passenger of the pickup truck were reported to not have sustained injuries in the incident.
