The Denver Police Department has turned to the community in its latest effort to apprehend a fugitive. In a social media update tagged as "Mug Shot Monday," authorities disseminated the image of Karon Shepard, a suspect wanted on charges of sexual assault and assault. According to the Denver Police Department, the public is urged to help locate Shepard and provide information through Metro Denver Crime Stoppers by calling 720-913-STOP (7867) or submitting a tip online.
The department is making a plea for those in the know to come forward with any relevant information that could lead to Shepard's capture. In a unique turn of initiative, Denver Police have also addressed Shepard directly in their post, stating, "If you turn yourself in, we will expire this post upon confirmation of your booking," as per the Denver Police Department. This approach appears to try and strike quickly to resolve the situation while also offering the suspect an indirect incentive to surrender.
The police have not disclosed additional details regarding the incidents that led to the issuance of the warrants for Shepard's arrest. As part of their ongoing efforts, Denver PD continues to encourage anyone who might possess knowledge of Shepard's whereabouts to speak up, even offering the possibility to tip anonymously should they choose to avoid direct involvement.
