A Detroit man is facing serious allegations after being charged with the sexual assault of a 5-year-old girl at a local McDonald's restroom. Joshua Joel-Eli Brown, 34, has been charged with second-degree criminal sexual conduct with a person under 13, CBS News Detroit reported.
The incident, as reported by ClickOnDetroit, occurred around 8:15 p.m. last Thursday at a McDonald's located on the 6800 block of Michigan Avenue. Following the girl into the women's restroom, the defendant allegedly had inappropriate sexual contact with the child before hastily fleeing the establishment. Charged with a crime that carries up to 15 years in prison, Brown's expected arraignment is today.
As per Detroit Free Press, Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy commended the Detroit Police Department, saying, "The Detroit Police department did an excellent job investigation (sic) and apprehending the defendant. This case illustrates why we must remain vigilant when it comes to our children."
