Early morning commuters in Denton encountered unexpected delays after a crash on northbound I-35E led to a significant diesel spill, stretching between Post Oak Boulevard and Mayhill Road. The incident, which unfolded this morning, prompted the closure of an on-ramp near Pockrus Page Road and the right lane of the interstate, as reported by the City of Denton Fire Department.
Though fire crews were on scene to manage the hazardous spill, the disruption to the typical ebb and flow of traffic was inevitable. The department, acknowledging the complications, suggested "taking an alternate route this morning" to navigate around the area, as per the City of Denton Fire Department, which provided timely updates on the situation.
Fortunately, the efforts to remediate the spill's impacts were met with speed, as a later update from the City of Denton Fire Department indicated. "The roadway has reopened," they posted at 10:53 a.m., signaling an end to the morning's disruptions.
