A Northern Michigan man has been sentenced to a lengthy prison term for sexually abusing a child. Ryan Beebe, 35, of Dighton, received a sentence of 30 to 50 years in state prison on Monday, MLive reported. Last month, a Wexford County jury found Beebe guilty of two counts of first-degree and two counts of second-degree criminal sexual conduct. The offenses occurred over several years, beginning when the child was 8, in their shared home in Wexford County.
Throughout the legal proceedings, which concluded with a definitive sentence, Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel highlighted her team’s efforts in pursuing justice. "I am proud of the work my prosecutors have done to pursue justice for the victim of this case, and I am grateful to the survivor who showed tremendous courage in coming forward to speak out against these horrific crimes," Nessel stated in a press release.
An unnamed minor, who experienced multiple sexual assaults between 2016 and 2021, was involved in legal proceedings managed by the Department of Attorney General under Dana Nessel. The prosecution sought legal accountability for the offenses, and the sentence represents the formal consequences of those actions.
The case was handled by the Department of Attorney General after charges were filed by the Wexford County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office. The prosecution proceeded with the case, and a sentence was issued. Prior to sentencing, the prosecution team took steps to address the case and pursue legal accountability.
