
District 6 Councilmember Ric Galvan helped provide 336 families, including seniors, with free turkeys through a Thanksgiving initiative. His office focused on easing holiday burdens for households across the district, according to the City of San Antonio.
The program prioritized families with students at Title I public schools, supporting 150 households facing financial strain. Additional partnerships with the Gonzaba Foundation and Methodist Healthcare System delivered turkeys to older adults at three senior centers, as reported by the City of San Antonio.
Councilmember Galvan highlighted the holiday spirit, saying “Thanksgiving is about family, gratitude, and community.” He added, “I’m deeply thankful for our partners at Gonzaba Foundation and Methodist Healthcare System for helping us make this effort a reality.” His office, which frequently collaborates with local nonprofits to reach residents in need, helped coordinate efforts to provide Thanksgiving meals to families and seniors in District 6, as stated by the City of San Antonio.
