
The Douglas County Emergency Management Agency has initiated its 2025 Community Preparedness Survey, a pivotal step in assessing the emergency preparedness of residents within the area. The survey is designed to be brief, taking an estimated three to five minutes to complete, and can be found online through either the Douglas County website or on the EMA's Facebook page.
According to the Douglas County Emergency Management Agency, In pursuit of fortifying the community's safety and readiness, the EMA's survey will inform how the agency can better serve and educate the public on emergency matters, however, it's also crucial that residents provide frank feedback; Director James Queen emphasized the role of citizen input, stating, "Community involvement is the cornerstone of effective emergency management,” he explained. “This survey is more than just data collection; it’s a direct conversation with our residents. Honest citizen feedback is vital to building a more resilient community. By sharing your preparedness level and concerns, you are helping us protect life and property in Douglas County.”
Results from the anonymous survey will play a key role in the EMA’s strategic planning, helping the agency adapt training, improve resource distribution, and strengthen communication with the Douglas County community. The survey is now open to the public and will remain accessible until December 23, giving residents ample time to participate.
